Connection
Many of us are born with an unexplainable love for horses. This love is important. It's a connection with Nature that keeps us as individuals and our culture sane.
Confidence
One doesn’t get far in developing any kind of a relationship with a horse if the human lacks confidence. The best way to obtain confidence is to build upon experiences with calm, obedient and responsive horses.
Communication
Many horse people, having acquired confidence, possess only very rudimentary skills for communicating with horses. Classical horsemanship teaches people to honor the horse, to develop increasingly refined means - through ever inch of our own bodies - to communicate with him.
Compassion
As we "take time" to develop the ability to both give and receive messages from our horses, we develop compassion. Centaur Rising teaches that this empathy extends to all living creatures, including fellow human beings. Many of us have seen horses – including dressage horses – treated without compassion. This is no role model for future generations – or for life.
Commitment
Classical horsemanship is built upon the long-term development of the physical and emotional wellbeing of the horse. Centaur Rising teaches people about the responsibilities of horse care, not just in basic nutrients, but also in appropriate requirements for exercise and the horse's development as a lifelong partner with man.
Community
Through Centaur Rising's teaching, we develop a community of like-minded souls – those devoted to developing a more compassionate commitment for all horses. Please join our community!
